Within a 15-minute drive, you can visit St. George's castle built in the early 16th century, the monastery of Saint Gerasimos with its ornate interior and the mummified body of the saint himself. Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, can also be reached with a 15-minute drive for fruit markets, souvenirs, bakeries, cafes or many wonderful restaurants. Be sure to spend an evening in the square where you can have an ice cream, frappe, crepe or mixed drink while watching the town come alive and gather. Other notable drives include a visit to the underground Lake Mellisani and Dragorati Cave.
